I was wondering if anyone could explain why, when I upload a show, the lossy file derivation process runs twice, apparently deleting whatever was created on the first pass before running the second time?

Typical example... I just uploaded cubensis2012-12-21. It queued the following tasks:

138726029 derive.php
138726023 derive.php
138726022 archive.php
138726021 modify_xml.php
138725809 bup.php
138725790 archive.php

Waited, but it looked like the derived files did not get deleted and rebuilt this time... They usually do...

I think I've seen this: the files table gets filled up, and then a refresh very soon after that shows just the FLACs, without even the rest of the table laid out; a little while after that, everything's back. I figured it was caused by the archive servers shuffling things around to make the item go live once the derivation had completed.

It does it every time for me. I just haven't had the time to go back and save the logs. When the show tasks are queued up, however, the derive.php task always seems to appear twice.
